Upcoming Events and Knoxville Rocks!

By Shelley Lapham-Pastore, Macaroni Kid Knoxville April 12, 2019

Happy Friday Everyone!

What an amazing week we have had in Knoxville, with beautiful warm weather, and colorful flowers and trees blooming everywhere! Can I just say how much I LOVE this Community and the adults that work so hard and give back of their time and talents to enrich the lives of others and our youth that will be creating our future? Last Saturday, Dogwood Arts hosted their annual Chalk Walk in historic Market Square and Artists lined the streets with their chalk drawings and created all day while thousands of families watched. People voted and this year's fan favorite was a multicolored piece by Artist Curtis Glover (photo: Curtis Glover Instagram) He truly did an amazing job! Another huge family fun Event happening downtown this Saturday from 10-10 is the annual Rossini Festival.

Speaking of being inspired, Kelli Smith from WATE 6 and I have had fun getting Crafty on the air during their Living East TN show at 3 pm on Fridays. Learn how to make a cool DIY colored rice tree Art on Canvas and watch our fun segment here! If you are looking for something fun and creative for your kids to do this Spring and Summer, check out these great Art Classes, Acting, and Sweet Treat Creations Camps for kids starting at age 2 up to 5th grade.

Have you heard the news that The Muse has opened up a location at the West Town Mall? Now the Dads have something fun to take the kids to do while the Moms shop! Check it out during the free Grand Opening Event this Saturday from 10-5.

Lots of fun Easter Events happening in Knoxville the next two weeks. A few of my favorite are the Helicopter Egg Drop, Egg Hunt at the Museum of the Appalachia, and the Live Easter Bunnies at the O'Hare Airport in Smart Toys & Books! Be sure to check them out and other great Events on our Event Calendar.

Have a fantastic Spring!
